I hereby acknowledge that I am an individual of at least 18 years of legal age and am the author of my personal A.A. story (hereafter referred to as “the Work.”) which I submitted to Alcoholics Anonymous World Services, Inc. (hereafter referred to as “A.A.W.S.”) for the literature being developed which will be published in the Fourth Edition of the Big Book Alcohólicos Anónimos, and derivatives thereof.
I also acknowledge that I am the sole creator and owner of the Work, I fully understand the terms set forth in this assignment, and I may freely assign my copyright. In exchange for good and valuable consideration, receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, I hereby assign to A.A.W.S. all copyrights, title, and interests in the Work, not limited to any format (print, audio recording, PowerPoint, electronic text, etc.), including without limitation all moral rights therein; registrations, applications, renewals, revisions, revivals, reversions, and extensions thereof now existing or hereafter created or discovered; and the sole and exclusive rights of use, reproduction, modification, distribution, expansion, performance, display, digital transmission, and creation of derivatives of the Work, in any manner and media in whole or in part throughout the world or the known universe in perpetuity; the same to be held and enjoyed by A.A.W.S. and successors, assigns, or other legal representatives. I further acknowledge that A.A.W.S. may (i) make any modifications to the Work, which, in its sole judgment, it determines ought to be made; and (ii) publish or not publish the Work.
I hereby warrant and represent that the statements contained in this Agreement are true. I hereby indemnify and agree to hold A.A.W.S. and its permitted licensees harmless from any and all claims, liabilities, loss, injury, or damages (including outside attorneys’ fees) arising directly or indirectly out of any claim, action, or proceeding based upon an alleged violation of the foregoing warranties and representations.
I also hereby disclaim and waive the exercise of any and all of my moral rights in the Work against A.A.W.S. and its permitted licensees. A.A.W.S. is not obligated to reproduce, publish, distribute, or otherwise use the Work or to permit anyone else to do so.
