Alcoholism has been described as the lonely disease, and many have drunk in order to fit in with others. As with the earlier section on telephone therapy, this section reminds that A.A. is a fellowship of over two million likeminded souls. Reasons and methods of fending off loneliness – impulses to drink again are less potent when in company of others.
